Mr. W.T. (Bill) Heard, III was born June 30, 1962 in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Marketing from the School of Commerce and Business Administration. Mr. Heard also graduated from the Chevrolet Dealer School.

He began full time employment at Bill Heard Chevrolet in Huntsville, Alabama in January 1986. In September of 1986 he began work in the auto business in Texas and later Washington, D.C. returning to the Columbus, Georgia dealership in the spring of 1990. In 1995, Mr. Heard became the president of the Columbus, Georgia dealership. Bill Heard Chevrolet, which has locations in Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Huntsville, Nashville, Memphis, Houston, Phoenix and Las Vegas, is the largest retailer of Chevrolet cars and trucks and General Motors products in the world.

Mr. Heard is active in many civic organizations which include: Director of the Columbus Jaycees, 1991; Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, 1992; Chamber of Commerce, 1997-2002; United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, 1996-2000; Rotary Club of Columbus, 1992-present; CB&T Advisory Board, 1994-present; Columbus Technical College Board of Trustees, 1999-present; United Negro College Fund, Chairman, 1997-2000; Salvation Army Capital Campaign, Chairman, 1999.

Mr. Heard and his wife Caroline are the parents of two sons. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbus and past chairman of its finance committee of the Board of Deacons.
