Infantry Museum Pecans!

Columbus, Georgia – November 7. 2005 – The National Infantry Foundation is proud to announce a philanthropic partnership with Columbus Gourmet, Inc. The gourmet food company, headquartered in Columbus, will adorn the packaging of its specialty pecan products with the National Infantry Museum logo and information about plans to build a new National Infantry Museum, and will turn over a significant percentage of gross sales of those pecans to the Foundation's capital campaign.

"Columbus Gourmet is committed to helping raise money for our soldiers, whether they are serving now or served in the past," said Columbus Gourmet President Bryan Stone. "The National Infantry Museum will be a premiere facility for our military’s most humble servant, our Infantryman.”
"We're so grateful for this opportunity to team up with Columbus Gourmet," said National Infantry Foundation Executive Director Ben Williams. "Customers who already love these pecans now get an added benefit of knowing they're contributing to the legacy of the U.S. Infantryman every time they buy some."

The National Infantry Foundation is more than halfway toward its goal of raising $75 million for the new museum and Heritage Park. The 200-acre site linking Columbus and Fort Benning, the Home of the Infantry, will include a 150,000-square-foot museum, a 7-acre parade field for Infantry training and change-of-command ceremonies and a memorial walk of honor.

Stone said it's important for non-profits, such as the National Infantry Foundation, to create partnerships with private enterprises in order to sustain their fundraising efforts. "Ben Williams, Executive Director of the Foundation and Jerry White, its Chairman, understand that we cannot do justice to this project without creating these partnerships," Stone said. "Their vision and commitment to the museum and the foundation are second to none!”

The newly-packaged pecans are available now, and special commemorative tins will be available in time for holiday giving. For information about purchasing the pecans, visit www.columbusgourmet.com.
